A Letter From Sami’s Little Sister

Three years without Sami. Somehow it feels like it’s been a lifetime and just a moment all at once.

There are still days I catch myself wanting to call or text her. Days I wish I could hear her voice one more time or ask her opinion on one more decision. Grief has a way of reminding you how deeply you loved someone, but it also reminds you how deeply God can work through a life surrendered to Him.

The Sami Faith Foundation exists because Sami’s story mattered. Her faith mattered. The way she loved people mattered. Even through suffering, she continued pointing people back to Jesus, and that legacy continues to impact families today.

Sometimes I wonder if she would be proud of all of this. But then I look around at this community, at the people rallying around local Stage IV thrivers, and at the hope being shared through this foundation, and I know God is still using her story for something bigger than we could have imagined.

Thank you for helping us continue that mission and reminding families they are not fighting alone.

2025 Year End Update

As we closed out the year, we were overwhelmed by the love and support shown at our annual Sami Strong 5K Glow Run/Walk. Because of this incredible community, we welcomed 255 registrants and raised over $22,000 to support our mission.

One of the greatest blessings from this event was being able to give back directly to a local Stage IV breast cancer thriver. Supporting families walking through the unimaginable is at the heart of why the Sami Faith Foundation exists, and we are so thankful to be part of a community that continues to show up with generosity, compassion, purpose, and prayer.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce some BIG plans for this year!

Sami Strong Family Fun Day

Tentatively November 14, 2026

With your registration this special evening will include:

• Family fun activities

• Food & fellowship

• Event shirts

• Breast cancer education & awareness

• A meaningful 1-mile remembrance walk

  
  

And of course, we will still be lighting up the night in honor of Stage IV breast cancer awareness so get that glow gear ready!

As our foundation continues to grow, we are also planning to introduce a separate timed 5K event early next year as we work toward hosting two annual events each year.

Through your continued generosity, the Sami Faith Foundation has been able to grow a support fund of nearly $40,000 dedicated to helping Stage IV breast cancer thrivers and their families. Because Stage IV breast cancer brings ongoing treatments and long-term financial burdens, we are committed to stewarding these resources carefully so families can receive support when they need it most.

Every registration, sponsorship, shirt purchase, prayer, volunteer hour, and shared post makes a difference. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us continue Sami’s legacy and reminding local families that they are not fighting alone.
